Modalities and schedules

Blended learning 1

Mornings from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:30

    • 2 days a week, classes are held in person at JOVIAT
    • 1 day a week they are held online
    • 2 days a week are practical in professionalization centers in small groups

Tuesday to Friday mornings, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Curriculum

Focused on the efficient management of reproductive and breeding processes within the livestock farm.

 

This module covers strategies for effective management of animal production, including planning, handling and marketing.

It focuses on specific practices for raising and handling horses.

Learn more about equine taming and handling techniques.

<p>Provides knowledge of the use and maintenance of the machinery and facilities required for livestock farming operations.</p>

Strategies to guarantee hygiene and prevent diseases in animals and facilities.

It prepares students to support veterinary professionals in the care and treatment of animals.

It discusses the measures necessary to prevent the spread of diseases within livestock farms.

Skills for the efficient management of veterinary centers, including administrative and quality management aspects.

Technical English focused on the livestock farming and animal health sectors.

A final project where students apply the knowledge acquired in a practical context.

Professional internships in companies in the sector for the practical application of knowledge.

· Livestock Product and Foal Marketing: Focuses on marketing and sales strategies specifically tailored to livestock products.
· Small Animal Veterinary Care Assistance: Prepares students to provide specialised care for small animals within a veterinary setting.

Project work

Duck Farm

Students are involved in every stage of the ducks’ life cycle, from rearing onwards. to their commercialisation. Through the efficient management of resources, the farm operates according to a model that stands out for its commitment to environmental responsibility and animal welfare.

Sale of a foal

This is a real project where a professionalization center gives students the management of the sale of a foal; with the opportunity to apply marketing and sales techniques.

Foal auction

This project involves setting up an auction of the foals that are tamed during the Equestrian Activities Technician (TAE) courses. It offers practical experience in event organization and commercial management within the equestrian sector.

Quissos Project

In collaboration with a local kennel, students develop models on social networks to promote adoption in these centers. They also learn how to treat abandoned animals and take care of them , providing added value to their training in animal health.

Artificial Insemination Project

Students practice the technique of artificial insemination on animals from a dairy farm. This project allows students to delve deeper into assisted reproduction techniques and their impact on livestock production .

<p>In addition to the features already mentioned, the programme benefits from an international outlook through the Erasmus+ Programme, an open innovation approach supported by its own educational methodology, and collaboration with the Catalan Employment Service (SOC) for continuing and vocational training.</p>

<p>Work placements are a key part of the programme and take place in livestock companies and partner veterinary centres, including the JOVIAT LES TANQUES Training Centre in Viladecans, La Vaqueria, Torre d’en Roca in Sallent, among others.</p>

<p>Career opportunities include Livestock Farm Manager, Production Manager in livestock farms or agribusinesses, Artificial Insemination Technician, Livestock Machinery and Equipment Supervisor, Equine Farm Manager, Equine Care and Stable Manager, Veterinary Assistant, and Veterinary Products Sales Representative.</p>

<p>Students will be awarded the Higher Technician in Livestock Farming and Animal Health Assistance qualification, which prepares them to manage livestock production, provide specialised support to veterinary teams, and implement production, quality, animal health, and animal welfare plans.</p>

<p>To be eligible for the programme, applicants must meet one of the following entry requirements: hold a Spanish Baccalaureate (Bachillerato) qualification, a Specialist Technician (FP2) qualification, a Higher Technician qualification, or a Technician qualification; have successfully completed the second year of the former experimental Baccalaureate, the University Orientation Course (COU), the specific access course for Higher Vocational Education and Training programmes, or the university entrance examination for applicants aged 25 or over; or hold a university degree or an equivalent qualification.</p>

<p>Upon completing the programme, students may progress to other Higher Vocational Education and Training programmes, pursue a bachelor’s degree at university, or enter the workforce directly.</p>
